Answers…
BOTOX® is a purified protein used to treat fine lines and wrinkles on the face, forehead, side of the eyes, and lip areas. It is a physician-administered, FDA approved skin treatment. During treatment, very low doses of BOTOX® are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause those stubborn lines. Improvement is seen within days and generally lasts up to 4 months.
2. Who is a candidate for BOTOX®?
Those who wish to reverse the effects of the aging process on the face with no down time are eligible for BOTOX® injections. BOTOX® is not recommended for women who are pregnant or are nursing.
4. When are BOTOX® treatment results realized?
Marked improvement in fine lines can be noticed within days. Improvement continues for up to a month, and results can last for up to 4 months. In clinical trials, nearly 90% of men and women rated the improvement in their appearance as moderate to better 1 month after treatment. In the past few years we have treated hundreds of Seattle patients with BOTOX® and the results were pretty impressive.
5. Is treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic painful?
BOTOX® injections do not require anesthetic. A small amount of BOTOX® is administered using a very small and fine needle. Most patients experience very minimal discomfort similar to the feeling of the facial hair being plucked.
6. Who should not use BOTOX® Cosmetic?
Those suffering from an infection at the injection site should not use BOTOX®. Also patients with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the formulation should avoid BOTOX®. Patients with neurological disorders such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects.
7. Will I experience any side effects?
Headaches and respiratory infection are the possible common side effects. Flu syndrome, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea may also happen. Less frequently occurring (<3%) adverse reactions include pain in the face, erythema at the injection site, and muscle weakness. These events are thought to be associated with the injection and occurred within the first week.
8. How much do BOTOX® treatments cost?
BOTOX® is quite affordable. Like other appearance-related investments, such as hair coloring and cuts, teeth whitening, and chemical peels, the cost must be weighed relative to your expectations. Aura Laser Skin Care is one of the most qualified places for BOTOX® Treatments in Seattle and we offer a complimentary consultation in order to discuss if you qualify, the dosage, and price.
